It is our sincerest hope that this ministry will provide some much needed information and resources to the community and help to end the stigma and shame surrounding addiction. Celebrate Recovery is a program based on the twelve step process using Christ as the one and only sought after Higher Power. It is a program that sees all addictions as having the same root cause (unhealed Hurts, Habits and Hang-ups) even though the substances may vary from food to narcotics, alcohol, sex, gambling or even love addictions. Many of our members have also found healing in other twelve step groups, but, as disciples of Christ, we have chosen the Celebrate Recovery format for our meetings. It is our intention at Kearney First United Methodist Church to reach out and share the hope and healing we have found through Christ.
