Our Youth Ministry

Kearney First United Methodist Church has an exciting student ministry program with the overarching goal of connecting students to Jesus Christ and his life-changing grace.  Our youth ministry consists of Sunday School classes, high-energy weekly youth group gatherings, bible-based small groups and a Confirmation program.  We also offer a variety of social outings and group events, service projects, retreats, mission trips and Summer Christian camps.

Youth group is a safe place where students can grow together in their relationship with Christ and each other through study, small group hangout, worship and cool biblical teaching.  (Grades 8-12)

Sunday Evenings

Youth gather for group games and activities.  This is a time for group-building, fellowship and fun in a Christ-centered atmosphere.

Confirmation

Our Confirmation Experience is for 6th - 7th grade students who are interested in confirming what they believe and practice as Christians.  Emphasis is placed on making a personal choice to follow Jesus, developing a growing relationship with Jesus, and digging into the foundation of our basic Christian beliefs.  It includes an amazing overnighter retreat, service projects, group outings and lots of opportunities to ask questions about our faith.  Regular meetings are: 7th grade - 1st and 3rd Wednesdays from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.; 6th grade - 2nd and 4th Wednesdays from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. throughout the school year.
